LINKIN PARK Song Spotlighted In Upcoming 'CSI' Episode
October 22, 2008"Leave Out All The Rest", the new hit single from multi-platinum two-time Grammy-winning rock band LINKIN PARK, will play a key role in the pivotal November 6 episode of Emmy Award-winning series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation".
The show's usage of the LINKIN PARK track is truly unprecedented: in addition to being titled "Leave Out All The Rest", the episode will open and close with the Top 10 hit. In addition, the melody from "Leave Out All The Rest" will be used throughout the episode to underline and score the building story of lead character Gil Grissom (William Petersen),who's departing the hit series, and his unresolved love with Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox),who recently left the crime lab. Their relationship has been a key storyline over the course of the series' past five seasons.
"We found the melody and lyrics of the song to work so well with our story, that we underscored Grissom's emotional journey with it," says Jason Alexander, music supervisor for "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation". "We've been long admirers of LINKIN PARK and it was wonderful for us to collaborate on something special like this."
"We have always been huge fans of LINKIN PARK,' adds Carol Mendelsohn, the show's executive producer. "They have an anthemic sound that's full of strength and simultaneous vulnerability. They were perfect for the show and the conflict within it."
"Leave Out All The Rest" is the fifth top ten single from LINKIN PARK's latest album, "Minutes To Midnight" (Machine Shop Recordings/Warner Bros. Records),currently approaching six million worldwide sales.
In other news, LINKIN PARK recently received an American Music Award nomination for "Favorite Artist - Alternative Rock Music." The band has also announced a November 25 release for "Road To Revolution", a special CD/DVD set featuring 18 of the group's biggest hits recorded live at the Milton Keynes National Bowl during the sold-out European leg of this past summer's Projekt Revolution tour.
